Private dental care.?
My mum has been paying for private dental care, im now 18 and really don't care about the dentist as my teeth are fine so I would prefer she stopped paying for it. So I want to know in the unlikely event something does haooen to my teeth am I covered by the NHS or will I have to pay for private ?

i not sure which area i should post this but as it semi political i will here....i went dentist few months back 240 NHS again today and another 240,I only on retirement pension i live with x husband but because i do i classed as dependent...i can not afford this...i have enquired and more or less been told tough sh1t...yet i know many people with 6 kids or more never worked in life and dont pay a penny...surly this is not right...why i bother to work most of my life or my husband we were idiots.

About dental care in New Zealand for a British citizen?
On the 4th of September this Sunday I'm going to be flying to New Zealand to spend a year there backpacking. Over the last couple of days I've suddenly developed a really bad ache in some of my teeth on the top row, left side. This is really bad timing as I'm due to fly to NZ in 4 days and it's now far too late to get an appointment with my dentist so I was wondering if it would be possible for me to have it looked at by a dentist in NZ? I know the UK and NZ have a reciprocal healthcare agreement but I don't know if dental work comes under it. If it doesn't and I can't get work done under the publicly funded heath care system in NZ what kind of prices am I looking at to have some fillings done maybe 3 or 4 ?? I know it's gonna cost an arm and a leg... But could someone give me a rough estimate?By the way it wont be possible to postpone the trip now as it's too late and too many things are set in place now.Thanks for the help.

I am a full time masters student and am trying to find out whether I am entitled to free NHS dental care.I am unable to find a straight answer anywhere and from what the NHS website says it seems as I am not entitled, however at my dentist they gave me a HC1 form. Is there any point me filling it in? And is there any difference between England and Wales for this issue. Any help much appreciated CheersLia

My friend is 19 and just started at a new job as a hairdresser and makes very little. She doesn't have insurance and is considering applying for medical but even then they still don't pay for dental. Right now she is having severe pain in her gums where her wisdom teeth are partially in. They are not completely in so it would require oral surgery to have them removed. Her gums on the left side in the back seem to have some sort of blister or what feels like a hard rock. We are assuming it's some sort of infection and she needs to be seen asap. Can they help her at the hospital? What can she do?

Private Dental care problem with my tooth ? (please read)?
I pay for private dental care and my lower R1 tooth and R2 have low toothache but the R 2 seems to be moving infront of the R1. So the question is if i speak to the dentist about this what can he do or will I need to see an ortheduntist? If the dentist can do something about this what will he do ?
