Help regarding my dental health.?
The dentist said that despite crookedness, gaps, abnormalities in terms of shape and canine prominence, my teeth were sturdy and not at risk of becoming loose at any point in the near future. However, the pain I'm in is so considerable that I seriously don't want to live with it any more. Yes, I appreciate this is a stupid comment to make, but my teeth and gums are so sensitive that the pain is incomprehensible if you've never experienced it. I can no longer chew without my mouth hurting, so I have to drink 5 protein shakes a day using a straw in order to stop losing weight.I've told my dentist how bad this situation is but she just won't help me. I've gone to see two others and they've said the same that until signs of gum disease are noticeable, nothing can be done to help me out. There is no way I can deal with this pain for much longer, so what the hell do I do? Also, what treatments could I end up getting? I've done some research and I could end up having to have a full mouth extraction and complete dentures. Would this help with the pain? Thanks.
I'm so worried about my dental health!?
So I almost NEVER brush my teeth and I've always been cautious about my teeth but they weren't straight and bright white so I felt like it wouldn't make a difference if I brushed but now after like 3 years my 2 front teeth are a little chipped at the tops and they're all spaced out and a whitish yellow, and my real concern is my gums they're purpleish at the bottom red and whitish and if I push a liitle bit on them they turn pure whiteish clear and I can see the roots of my teeth. And now they're starting to bleed if I mess with them. I'm too embarassed to tell my dad and dentist because I was told to brush everyday. I don't know why my gums are doing that. I'm so scared.
Do we need to drink fluoride for dental health or just rinsing is enough?
My city's water supply contains fluoride, city says they add it for promoting dental health. My question is, " Do we need to drink the fluoride as in fluorinated water for the dental health or just rinsing with it as in toothpaste, mouthwash, etc... will do the job?" Please Note I AM NOT ASKING, IS ADDING FLUORIDE TO THE WATER SUPPLY IS A GOOD THING OR NOT.
Can you get a free dental health check up on the NHS?
Hi I have an EXTREME phobia of the dentist, so I have avoided going for about 4 years now. I used to pay dental plan which is fine because it's pay monthly, but because I haven't been for a while I will have to pay upfront for a check up and a new patient examination and including all the X rays it will be really really expensive. Can you get a check up for free at an NHS clinic? I heard you can but don't know how to go about it?Thanks
If you kiss someone that has a bad cavity can your dental health be affected?
Specifically if their back molar is almost gone
How is the Waterpik for dental health?
I use it twice a day. Isn't there evidence that plaque sitting on your teeth at the gums can cause systemic disease, not just gum disease?
Does bad dental health cause a miscarrage?

Improving my dental health and smile?
alright, so im 23 and pregnant.. so this is more long term..i have the beginnings of periodontal, so i am having deep cleaning done. its bad in the front ten teeth on top and about six on the bottom.im flossing, brushing, and using mouth wash every meal.i have five teeth with bad cavities that they want me to pull, but i cant afford to get replacements yet. were expecting money soon after the baby is born, so i figured i would wait.i have a cavity on the front left tooth by the gum in between the front two teeth. also both front teeth are chipped.there are white spots on my teeth, so i cant tell if my teeth are just yellow or if its yellow spots.. one front tooth sticks out a little more, so theres a small gap. anyway, any fixes or suggestions to this? how much can it cost?
How does daily gum chewing effect my dental health?
I chew gum everyday, at first I just liked to have minty breath all the time and something sweet to keep me up during class but now its an oral fixation and it feels weird when im outside and my mouth is just idle, I feel like I need to be chewing something. Ive been chewing speriment and doubblement almost daily for years. I recently had two cavities filled. Is the gum causing it? can it be the gum causing my teeth to get crooked? how do I control this, sugarless gum perhaps? Any suggestions are helpful
Whats the relationship between dental hygiene, dental health, and the bacteria found in plaque?
Question for anyone in the dental health practice.. Am I brushing too often?
I think I may brush too often, I feel like I absolutely MUST brush immediately in the morning, before I drink or eat anything, I assume consuming 8 hrs of mouth bacteria is a bad idea. Then obviously right after I eat. I sometimes give them quick brush again before I leave the house. Then as soon as I get home again I brush. Then usually after the gym I brush, then of course after dinner and before bed. So That can be a total of 6 brushings per day.I wanted to get my teeth whitened and the dental assistant told me that they are already " white" but moreover, turning transparent from the " scrubbing" of brushing. Which was a little disturbing to hear. Especially near the tips.So I thought I would substitute some of my brushings with flossing and mouth rinsing after eating, with this new routine, will the enamel ever resurface?Another thing, I prefer a baking soda and peroxide type of toothpaste, but recently my boyfriend brought home Tom's all Natural fluoride free toothpaste, which I am not a big fan of. Any suggestions on Over brushing length of brush timeBest times to brushBest toothpaste to use? Thanks in advance
Is there a relationship between 20 years of daily drinking and poor dental health (losing teeth)?
My husband had a complete physical and got a clean bill of health. But complains of neuropathy and OCD which he didn't tell the doctor about or the drinking. He is also loosing his teeth at a rapid rate.He refuses to see a doctor or take medication.
Dental health in third world countries?
Okay, I'm a Registered Dental Assistant and I am a junior but graduating this year in high school in a pre dentistry program although I want to be an ER Physician . On April 13, I have to present something called a capstone, I don't know if anyone has heard of it before? I have to do a research into a problem related to dentistry and do a project application . We were supposed to be working on this the entire year, but of course I procrastinate. I had a light bulb moment in the car yesterday when I was driving I just came up with my capstone topic yesterday . I was thinking maybe I can find a school in haiti, africa, or some poor parts of asia, send them a package of toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, etc., and do a video chat via webcam teaching them how to properly brush and cover the importance of good dental health...but I started further thinking...how could a school with students that can not afford toothbrushes have a computer and webcam? So, I don't think that would exactly work? Any other suggestions on what I can do?Thank You
