Good discount dental plan?
I haven't been to the dentist in a few years and now I really need to go. I probably have at least a few cavities and may need some crowns and or root canals. I don't have any dental insurance so I would like to pay as little as possible while at the same time getting quality care. Can anyone recommend a good dental discount plan or dental insurance plan that I could buy that would take effect immediately? I also need to find a good dentist locally Austin, TX so can anyone recommend a dentist or tell me a good place to look for one online? Thanks.

Are discount dental plans/fee schedules really beneficial?
My family does not have dental insurance, and I am going to need some work done. I have some issues with my gums, and it has just been years I've been to a dentist. I've been looking online at a few discount plans, but I'm just wondering if they are actually beneficial. For my whole family, it would cost $160 $200 a year. I called a dentist's office that is listed and they said their normal cost for a crown is around $900. With the plan, it would cost $504. Has anyone actually used any of these discount plans? Please don't advertise your own website here. If you are a broker or whatever looking for business...look elsewhere please. I only want to hear from people who have actually used these plans or from someone who works at a dentist's office and knows how these plans work. Thanks

Has anyone ever used a discount dental plan?
I need some dental work done and recieved a quote from a dentist that was $10,000.00 or more. She quoted me approximately $1000.00 or more per tooth I found this web site that has the dentist I used as a partisipant of many discount dental plans. The cost with the discount would be from $470 $650 per tooth.dentalplans.com If you put zip 64063 it will show all the plans and their prices. Ok now my question. If you have used any of these plans has your dentist honored the discounted price? Was it worth the money you paid? Should I join and ask the dentist that gave the quote to give me a new estimate or just find another Dentist that will honor those prices?

What dental insurance/discount dental plans cover sedation dentistry?
I have a tooth that really needs to come out. I've been dealing with toothaches for a while, and it's getting to be too much. The problem is, I'm terrified of the dentist doctors in general. During my last trip to the doctor, I had a panic attack. As a result, I've been looking into sedation dentistry. Are there any dental insurance plans or discount dental plans that cover sedation dentistry?

What should I go with, a Discount Dental Plan or Dental Insurance?
My fiance comes from a not so wealthy background or family and is having huge issues because her wisdom teeth have started to come in finally. She does not have Dental insurance and can't afford it but she needs the wisdom teeth extracted as they are impacted and causing severe pain in her jaw. I was looking at dentalplans.com and noticed these " discount dental plans" where it offers discounts on the costs of the procedures instead of just normal dental insurance. Are these legitimate? Or are they just not worth it?

Discount dental plan vs. fee for service?
i need to go to the dentist to have a number of fillings...soon i do not have time to be on a wait list for dental insurance. i've read about discount dental plans, and fee for service plans. i'm so confused i know for both dental plan and fee for service you have to pay IN FULL when you go. i'm sure the work i need done will run me well over $1000 and i just can't afford that. any advice?

Discount dental plan.?
Do dentists that participate in discount plans provide lower quality service to patient that use these plans? I'm considering using one but I'm concerned about the service provided.I've also considered a dental school, which is similar in price. Would this option be better? The school is 1 hour away from home so that is a bit of an inconvience.

Discounted dental plan in Bay area?
I feel a wisdom tooth coming in and its bugging the crap out of me. I don't have dental through work or by any other means. Is there any programs that offer discounted plans? or does anyone know of any dentistry schools near the Bay that will take patients for a very cheap price. I am a full time student. Also my credit is not that great.

Discount dental plan for braces?
I have Blue Cross dental insurance, but it's terrible. It does everything in its power to avoid paying anything for orthodontics, and my niece who's moved in with me needs braces badly. We have many, many expenses to help get her healthy, and I can't afford $5000 for braces. Are there any discount dental plans that are good for braces and don't impose a long waiting period? Most have a 12 month waiting period. Please do not link to any specific sites because it will look like spam. You are more than welcome to name programs you think are good
