What is the difference between travel insurance and medical insurance (health insurance)?
I am going for a trip in South Korea for about 4 months. My travel agency is selling travel insurance for about 400$ for the whole time but the school im gonna be studying at also sells Korean health insurance for about 150$. Both seem to cover medical costs and accidental death. What is the difference between the two?

Does government funded medical insurance cover treatments for smoking related ailments?
For example, if someone has medicaid or medicare and has been diagnosed with lung cancer...would chemotherapy be covered? I am just curious because I know that the government makes a lot of money from the idiots who smoke cuz they are so addicted they wont stop buying the damn things no matter how much taxes they have to pay on them . It seems counter productive for them to turn around and use those same tax dollars treating smokers. After all, millions die each years so the majority of the time it is money wasted. Even if they did pull through, they will probably go back to smoking and do we really want someone that stupid wasting space anyway? I hope it isn't covered. As a matter of fact NO insurance should cover treatment for smoking related ailments. If they are stupid enough to smoke they should pay for it totally out of pocket. They should just let them all die off. Its evolution, survival of the fittest. That way only the smarter people will go on to reproduce and hopefully eventually people will just stop after the dumb ones kill themselves of course .Also..why is it legal to do something that is proven to be deadly? Assisted suicide for people who are suffering is illegal but perfectly healthy people are allowed to give themselves cancer? I just don't get it i guess.And by the way...dont compare this to alcohol. MOST people who drink alcohol are NOT alcoholics, but MOSTLY everyone who smokes is extremely addicted. its not the same.

Can medical insurance only provide coverage for certain medical conditions?
I have a condition known as seborrheic dermatitis. I just got hired at a job and went to a dermatologist to get a refill on a elidel cream gm which I use to treat it. I had the dermatologist office fill out a prior authorization form so I could get my medical insurance to help pay for the prescription. But the medical insurance declined to provide benefits for Elidel Cream Gm . The reason they gave was 'Coverage is provided for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. The information provided by your prescriber indicates that your use of this drug does not meet those requirements.'From reading this, it appears they're saying that they do not help fill prescriptions for the condition seborrheic dermatitis. Can a medical insurance actually only give you medical benefits for certain skin conditions, but not other skin conditions?I thought there would be government protections in place to prevent medical insurance from only helping you with certain medical conditions.

How can I get a surgery without medical insurance?
I have had major sinus issues for years now and they are getting worse. The last time I saw a specialist I paid $500 out of pocket for him to tell me I had sinusitis, rhinitis, deviated septum, and a couple other things I don't remember. He said I'd need X Rays to proceed but I couldn't afford $900 out of pocket for X Rays. I also found out that I have polyps that need to be removed.I've had health insurance plenty of times before, but none of it covers xrays, or even the ENT specialist, so I highly doubt it'd cover a surgical operation. for the record, I'm not some " occupy" bum I am a full time student that works 2 jobs neither of which offers health insurance. I am a 100 % disabled veteran but am only covered medically for my service connected medical conditions. I don't think I qualify for free assistance like some people with medical insurance since I make almost $3k month. Should I sign up for Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, or what? There are so many options and I do not know what to do. I don't know if being a fully disabled veteran will qualify me for anything including a discount on anything. I also don't want my service connected conditions to be used against me in the pricing since I am already covered for that.Any help is appreciated.
